AHEPA RESPONDS QUICKLY TO AID THOSE AFFECTED BY HURRICANE HELENE
WASHINGTON – Supreme President Savas C. Tsivicos announced today that an immediate donation of $10,000 is being sent to AHEPA Chapter 2 in Charlotte, N.C., to purchase goods for use by victims of Hurricane Helene.
The donation is the first as funds are still coming in from the 408 active US chapters and an additional 100 chapters across the globe.
Tsivicos stated: “We are so proud that our chapters and our members have risen to assist their fellow community members. We are thankful to everyone in the AHEPA family who has donated or will be donating to this worthy effort.”

AHEPA Marathon Chapter No. 2 was chartered in 1922, making it 102 years old. For over a century the AHEPA has responded in times of need, having raised and donated over $1 billion since its founding. The chapter is currently filling up a container truck with nonperishable food, water, clothing and personal hygiene products and is planning to deliver it to those areas around Asheville, NC as early as next week.

AHEPA Norfolk Chapter No.122 in Norfolk, VA has also gathered food supplies, clothing, water and other necessities for transport to Asheville, NC. “We thank chapter 122 for their immediate response. This is another example of AHEPA works for the community not only locally but globally. We salute the brothers of District 3 and all those who donated” stated the Supreme President.

We congratulate the chapters for their immediate resolve to make a difference in our communities. Donations to the AHEPA Emergency Fund are being sent to our International headquarters in Washington, DC wither by checks or online at our web site https://ahepa.org/donate/
